Real Estate Terminology Explained
Real estate has its own language. Today, we want to explain some of the real estate terminology you may come across. If you've wondered what things like "pocket listing" or "contingencies" mean, we have your back.
Real estate has lots of industry terminology. Some are funny, and some are common to almost all transactions. Below are some of the funny ones, and below that are some short videos Joe Parker of the Santa Barbara Group put together for your edification.
Diamond in the Rough
This is one of my favorite real estate terms because it suggests there is an upside to a not-so-good place.
Charming
This is a favorite term for many Realtors. Due to its common use, one might think most every home in America is quite charming.
Unspoiled
A subtle to say that nothing has been done by the previous owners. Good examples are “unspoiled basement” or “unspoiled backyard.”
Cozy
When we see the term cozy, it tells us to think small. A cozy bedroom is where you have to go outside to change your mind.
