4th of July on Sterns Wharf
Santa Barbara is known worldwide for its impressive fireworks and festivities. On the 4th of July, Sterns Wharf is one of the best places to be with so much happening including:
- Face painting (Starts at 2:00 pm)
- Live music by Area 51 (4:oo pm)
- Festive treats include ice cream, sherbet, candy, popcorn, fudge, and cotton candy

Old Mission Market & Festival
The Old Mission Market and Festival is a new item on the list of things to do on the 4th of July in Santa Barbara. It is a family-friendly event that begins at 10:00 AM and runs until 4:00 PM. There are a number of things to do including:
- 20+ makers in our artisan market selling jewelry, pottery, vintage, fiber arts & more
- Face painting and henna available by Lily Sky Face Painting and Zoe E. Designs
- FREE craft activities for the kids and a variety of lawn games!
- Food and drink are available from Dave’s Dogs, Gloria’s Kitchen, Shaifer’s Kitchen, Rascals Vegan Food, and the United States of Espresso

4th of July Courthouse Concert
Join Pierre Claeyssens Veterans Foundation for a festive concert with Santa Barbara’s beloved Prime Time Band on 4th of July at 5:00 PM at the Santa Barbara County Courthouse Gardens (1100 Anacapa St, Santa Barbara, CA 93101).
Enjoy pops tunes, family favorites and patriotic classics, plus special guest performers. Come early to claim your spot on the grass; bring your picnic, beach chairs and blankets for this free, time-honored Santa Barbara tradition.

Where to Watch Fireworks Santa Barbara Information
West Beach 4th of July Party:
The big deal on the 4th of July is the epic fireworks show. If you’ve never been, you are in for a treat. The skies come alive at 9:00 pm. This year’s show, as with years in the past, will be choreographed to music; Just tune into 92.9 FM or check out KEYT.com to see the show via live stream..
The fireworks last for a bit over 20 minutes and feature lots of spectacular moments. Just when you think it’s over, another burst of color and sound will astound your senses.
Hotel Californian Viewing Party:
Are you looking for the best view in town to experience the Santa Barbara Fireworks? The Serena deck is available for guests and locals alike. You will need to be 21+, and pay a $10.00 cover. We are told there will be a DJ as well as food and drink available. If you really want to go all out, book a room at the Helel and get access to our VIP Mirador deck with the best firework view in all of Santa Barbara, book your accommodation here.
FYI: There are a lot of booming moments during the fireworks. Most dogs freak out with fireworks so you may want to keep them home. Also, if you have a toddler, ear protection is a good thing.
Parking For The 4th of July Fireworks
Parking for the fireworks is pretty crazy. Thousands of people fill the streets, Wharf, boats, and beaches near the Santa Barbara Harbor. If you are lucky and early, you may find parking in the lots near East and West beach. Lots of people choose to park on the outskirts and skate, bike, Uber, Lyft or take the Trolly down to the harbor.
Santa Barbara Fourth of July Parade
As far as we know, there is not 4th of July Parade Scheduled for 2022.
